Magical Moon Garden

What could be more -enchanted- than to cultivate your own Moon Garden. Honoring the -Silver- Goddess in all her glory with a fragrant & luminous evening garden. A wonderful offering which you will benefit from as well. Many night-blooming flowers are white and rely on strong fragrance, rather than bright colors, to attract insects. Plant night-bloomers near a bedroom window, where the breeze can carry the fragrance indoors right into your dreams.

Plant some in a circle to mimic the Moon, they look terrific alongside silver-foliaged Lambs ears and Artemisia. Illuminated only by moonlight, pale flowers and foliage add a dreamy, ethereal feeling. You dont need to have a big space, potted plants work too, just remember to add a trellis or place where viney plants can grow onto, as, unless they feel secure they will not bloom.

You can save and dry flowers to use in Amulets, Talismans or -dress- a Moon candle. Add fresh flowers to a -special- oil you have fashioned on the Full Moon or to water for magical workings. Press flowers and leaves into a -Book of Shadows- or make magical bookmarks for special journals. Following a Moon planting calendar will add a magical touch and keep you in the flow of her cycles. You can place Moonstones and or Crystals in the dirt of these -pale- beauties to energize them for meditations and spells. Dont forget when you take from a plant, to ask its permission and give thanks, an offering of water of food (plant) is a perfect -Thank you-.

Try these night-bloomers in your Moon Garden:
 • Angels trumpet (Datura innoxia)- This viney annual has giant, trumpet-shaped, white flowers. You may need to discipline this rambunctious plant to keep it in line.
 • Moonflower (Ipomoea alba)- Related to morning glory, this annual may climb to 10 feet. Tightly closed by day, its white flowers unfurl at dusk to release a lemony aroma.
 • Four o'clock (Mirabilis jalapa) - In late afternoon, this annual's flowers pop open in often-speckled shades of red, yellow, white or rose. It grows bush-like to 3 feet.
 • Yucca (Yucca filamentosa) - Flowers of this spiky perennial are open all day, but at night the droopy blossoms lift and release a soapy smell. Hardy in zones 4 to 9.
 • Evening primrose (Oenothera speciosa 'Pink Petticoats')- This fast spreading perennial is hardy in zones 5 to 9, and its pale flowers release a sweet scent in the evening.

Cauldron Meditation
For when you need renewal in your life.

(I haven't named a goddess here,I advise you to work with your
tradition's Lady.)
I suggest a steady drumbeat for this meditation.
Breathe deep. Relax. Close your eyes. Allow your body to relax, slowly
then your mind.
Visualize yourself in a wide, open room lit by candles. Before you is
your Lady. She wears a long flowing robe, her hair loose as she sits on
her throne. She has been awaiting your arrival. "Welcome" She says.
You return her greeting. Explain to her why you've come. Let all your
feelings pour out.She will listen and comfort you if you need it.
Tell her what it is you need.Whether it be a change in your life or
a renewal of strength and courage.
She may take your hand....go with her as she leads you to Her cauldron.
Step inside with trust.
While inside the cauldron you may be shown an image or symbol.Perhaps
to serve as a reminder of the transformation you are undergoing. When
it is time, she may reach in and lift you out. You're likely to feel
lighter somehow,happier.
You should thank Her then.
She may lean in and kiss your forehead. "Remember." Is all she says
as you awake to physical consciousness.

Siren Song Meditation

Close your eyes and imagine yourself surrounded by a White Light. It moves up your body relaxing you, healing you. It moves over your feet...your legs...your torso. Your body grows heavier as it moves over your arms...your neck...your head. You are completely relaxed.
You are standing on a beach shore. The white sand is warm and soft beneath your feet. A hazy fog fills the air and three female Sirens emerge from the mist. They are adorned in silver gossamer gowns that reflect the glowing light around them. As they approach, you hear their song, like the sound of the ocean waves and the air as it moves through the trees. Their small white porcelain hands link together as they form a circle around you. You notice that their legs glisten with iridescent scales, as the air around you begins to vibrate with their song. Walking in a clockwise direction around you they perform a healing dance. One of them reaches out and touches your body where it is ailing and you feel your energy flow changing. You relax for a few moments as the healing energy flows through your body.

The dance comes to an end as one of the Sirens looks deeply into you with her large beautiful violet eyes. Small patches of scales adorn her face and a smile touches her lips as her hands, cool like the ocean, gently caress your skin.
Turning from you, the Sirens walk across the sand and disappear back into the mist from which they came. A pink light, the color of unconditional love, begins to form around you. Your body becomes lighter as the light passes over your head...your neck...your arms. As you wander along the shore your body continues to grow lighter with each step you take, as the light passes over your torso...your legs...your feet. You feel a great love welling up inside of you. With a sense of well being flowing through your body and spirit slowly return to yourself and open your eyes.

Watchers

In Italian Witchcraft the beings known as the Grigori (Watchers) are an integral aspect of the belief system. Over the course of many centuries the initiates of Italian Witchcraft have developed various signs and gestures that are recognized by the Grigori and indicate the presence of a trained witch of the Old Religion. This intimate relationship between Grigori and initiate has been forged and nurtured by the Strega for countless generations. The ritual display of prescribed signs and gestures at the appropriate quarter grants passage by the Grigori and allows the initiate to gain access to the portals that lead directly into the Otherworld realms.
As guardians of the portals to such realms as the astral plane, the Grigori can negate magickal energy from manifesting there. This results in a failed magickal work or spell. The reasons why the guardians might intercede in such a manner are varied, but the Grigori bear the title "guardians" for good reason. Non-initiates of Italian Witchcraft, and those to whom these inner mysteries have yet to reveal themselves, often dispute the role of the Grigori. Another erroneous claim made by non-initiates is that initiates of Italian Witchcraft believe their actions are "judged" by the Grigori, which is untrue and is based upon ignorance of authentic Italian witch beliefs and practices.
The appearance of the essential Grigori or Watcher concept, in the literature on Italic paganism, dates back to archaic Roman religion, which itself is derived from the Etruscans. Ovid, in his work titled Fausti, calls the Lare the "night watchmen." In archaic Roman religion small towers were built at the crossroads and an altar was set before them upon which offerings were given to the Lare. The Lare were guardian spirits associated with these towers and with demarcation in general, as well as seasonal themes related to agriculture.
In the early Stellar Cults of Mesopotamia there were four "royal" stars called the Watchers. Each one of these stars "ruled" over one of the four cardinal points common to Astrology. This particular system would date from approximately 3000 BC. The Star Aldebaran, when it marked the Vernal Equinox, held the position of Watcher of the East. Regulus, marking the Summer Solstice, was Watcher of the South. Antares, marking the Autumn Equinox, was Watcher of the West. Fomalhaut, marking the Winter Solstice, was Watcher of the North.
In Charles Leland's book Aradia he recounts the tale of "The Children of Diana, or how the fairies were born," in which it is stated that Diana created "the great spirits of the stars." In this book we also find a reference to an elder race: "...Then Diana went to the Fathers of the Beginning, to the Mothers, the Spirits who were before the first spirit, and lamented unto them that she could not prevail with Dianus. And they praised her for her courage; they told her that to rise she must fall; to become the chief of goddesses she must become a mortal."

The Astral Light
by Magi
The astral can be considered as the energy double of the material. It is, in one sense, the stuff of which dreams are made. The substance from which their images are made is the astral light, which is the energy of Yesod on the Tree of Life. It is the same substance which gives light and life to anything you imagine, whether visually or using the other senses.
The astral light, which is equivalent to the astral plane, is the realm of astral projection or travel. Astral projection works through the combination of will and imagination, creating the required and appropriate images. These 'come to life' in the astral light of Yesod. Although the quality of feeling about it may be different, the images created in visual imagination, day-dreams, night-dreams, guided fantasy or directed day-dreaming are all - in terms of their relevance and their substance - identical with the images of astral travelling.
Various groups over the whole history of humankind have concentrated their energies, imagination and will on various symbols or symbolic systems - both mystical and magickal in emphasis - and have created 'permanent' astral planes; that is, places where the astral light has been imprinted with the symbols of a certain belief. For example, on the astral plane, various sub-plans may be found: an alchemical plane, a Tibetan plane, a Christian plane, a fairy plane, a Celtic plane and so. Wile there are more collective than individual in character, it is through Yesod that an individual may contact these planes.
The astral plane is an intermediate and invisible level of reality between the physical plane and higher, more divine realms. It is the common boundary between the individual and noumenal reality. A non-physical level of existence that is the basis of the physical plane. Astral travelling is the practice of travelling out of the physical in the astral planes. It is the transference of consciousness from the physical to the astral body, in a way that the practitioner perceives and moves about on the astral plane in a body of light, while the physical body remains inert. By using astral projection, the magician enters this world and interacts with angels, elementals and other beings. Astral projection in the Golden Dawn tradition can be described as a form of self-hypnosis that uses symbols as doorways in order to cause change in consciousness. From these higher levels of consciousness the magician often tries to see the underlying cause of things.

Opening the Third Eye

The Third Eye is directly related to the 6th chakra; the psychic chakra, located on the middle of the forehead above the brows. It is closely associated with the ''pineal'' gland. The pineal gland id dormant in most people,as is the true 3rd eye. French Philosopher Rene Descartes believed the pineal gland to be ''the seat of the soul'' where mind and body met.

In the average person, the pineal gland is atrophied and dormant. The following exercise will change that. Please read this thoroughly, as much of the exercises I write of are very advanced and can cause problems if one does not do them correctly.

The pineal gland is like a grape in size; like a raisin in most people where it remains dormant.

Opening the third eye/pineal gland:

This is done with a specific tone and chant. You only need to do this exercise for 3 days, afterwards, it is permanent.

The mantra to be used is ''Thoh,'' pronounced ''TOE.'' It must be within the correct vibration. Not deep, not high pitched, inbetween, like alto range. You will feel it when you hit the correct tone.
